What you can expect

The last remaining World War 2 battery left in Australia, Oliver Hill Battery is a historic site. During 1937 and 1945 Oliver Hill Battery was one of seven gun emplacements built to defend the Australian ports. The emplacement featured two 9.2 inch guns with the capability to fire an armour piercing shell up to 28 kilometres away. Oliver Hill is stretched over 32 hectares of land complete with underground tunnels, railway lines and paths. Catch the train from Settlement Railway station for a scenic trip up to Oliver Hill. Visitors can follow the self-guided paths or join a tour to take in the highlights of the area, the restored guns and the maze of underground tunnels.
