Salmon Bay

What you can expect

With a large sandy bay and beautiful snorkelling areas, Salmon Bay is a popular destination for locals and tourists. Salmon Bay’s main beach is filled with rocks and is bullied by the strong current and crashing waves, but there are sheltered sections that are perfect for the little ones and novice snorkellers. The eastern half of the bay is slightly sheltered from the open waters making it calmer and more relaxing. It is filled with beautiful reefs and colourful fish, so be sure to bring your under water camera! The view of the area from the beach is also spectacular with reef formations filling the aqua blue water and contrasted with the beautiful white sand. If weather conditions are bad, swimmers should avoid the waters on the western half of the bay due to the strong rips and dangerous waves.
